Bang Rong: the pier nobody's hotel is near
Koh Yao Noi boats leave from Bang Rong pier in Phuket's mangrove-lined north-east, not from Rassada (the Phi Phi pier) or Chalong. It is 30 minutes from the airport but an hour from Patong and Kata, with no public transport — a taxi or Grab is the only way, ฿500–900 depending on where you start. That is why most people buy the combined van + speedboat ticket: the pick-up costs less than the taxi, and the van waits for the boat.

Slower and wetter, no timetable, but a quarter of the speedboat price if you are already at the pier with time to spare.
On Koh Yao Noi
Boats arrive at Manoh pier on the island's east side (some at Tha Khao, a few kilometres north). Songthaews and resort trucks meet the boats: ฿50–100 per person to the east-coast beaches, 10–20 minutes. Bring cash — the island has ATMs but few of them.
Coming from Krabi instead
